This is a prototype system to enable a police officer to quickly stop a vehicle, avoiding a high speed chase.
The system consists of a control console, a handheld remote control, and a control module which would be required to be placed in all new vehicles.
Upon deciding to stop a vehicle, the officer enters description critera for the vehicle (type, make, color) into the console and presses "flash". At this point the 4-way flashers of any matching vehicles within range will activate, allowing the officer to further refine his selection, or to wait until other matching vehicles have moved far enough away, before pressing "Stop" which cuts the ignition.
