Year 2000 Issues
Dunfield Development Services Inc.
has conducted reviews of our
source code, and performed tests of our core product line in
order to discover any problems which may result from the
1999-2000 calendar roll over or from continued operation into
the new millennium.
At this time DDS is not aware of any Year-2000 problems with
any of our core products shipped after April 1998, and only one
minor problem ** with products shipped before that time.
Although we have a high confidence that our products will not
experience problems relating to the Year-2000 issue, we cannot
make an absolute guarantee that problems will not occur. This is
because we do use some third party tools and libraries in the
development of our products, and the vendors of these products
have not made such guarantees to us.
Our testing has not revealed any such problems, and since
most of our products do not have knowledge of the date, and do
not make use of date related library functions, we believe that
the likelihood of such problems occurring is quite small. We
will however make the statement that should such problems be
discovered, we will make the necessary fixes in a timely manner.
Dunfield Development Services Inc.
has not exhaustively tested the
many freeware, add-on and "extra" files which are
available from our web site, BBS, or included at no charge with
shipped software. These utilities are not vital to the operation
of our core products, and most of them do not make use of date
related functions. Again, we will make the statement that should
we become aware of any Year-2000 related problems with these
programs, we will make the necessary fixes as quickly as is
reasonably possible.
Dunfield Development Services Inc.
can not make any statement
about, or take any responsibility for any third party software
which is used with, or related to our product line. This
includes all software offered under the "THIRD PARTY
SOFTWARE" section of our catalog, as well as any operating
systems, editors, debuggers, monitors, utilities and any other
software supplied by any other party, which may be used with our
products in any way.
** Versions of our TOUCH command shipped before May 1998 will
incorrectly set years higher than 1999 when they are entered
with only two digits, however all dates are set correctly when
four digits are used. Versions of TOUCH shipped after April 1998
have been corrected so that two digit years less than 80 will be
interpreted to occur in the range of 2000-2079.
